There's a new miracle diet pill in town and its called Accompllia. Not only does it help you lose weight, it helps you stop smoking and drinking alcohol.
The drug is being developed by a French pharmaceutical firm and differs from other diet pills in that it works by blocking the connection between a pleasure-seeking activity, like smoking or overeating, and the reward "feeling" it causes in the brain.
The makers of the drug are seeking FDA approval to sell Accompllia in the US.
If you've tried other diet pills, the side effects of Accompllia are very familiar: depression, anxiety, and irritability. Oh what fun for future users of this new miracle diet drug. In a test study, 13 percent of the users on the highest dose of the drug stopped taking it and dropped out of the study due to those side effects. Oh vey! In my opinion, that does not sound overwhelmingly promising.
